On the afternoon of June 3, Mr. Vo Van Minh, Deputy Secretary of the Binh Duong provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People's Committee, chaired the 62nd meeting of the provincial People's Committee. Attending the meeting were Mr. Mai Hung Dung, Standing Member of the provincial Party Committee, Deputy Chairman of the provincial People's Committee, Mr. Nguyen Loc Ha, Standing Member of the provincial Party Committee, Deputy Chairman of the provincial People's Committee, and leaders of the Provincial People's Council.
The report presented at the meeting stated that in May 2024, the socio-economic situation of the province continued to develop steadily; foreign affairs and international cooperation continued to yield effective results; political security and social order were maintained; and traffic accidents decreased in all three criteria (number of cases, number of fatalities, and number of injuries). The outstanding result, the industrial production value of the province in May is estimated to increase by 1.34% compared to the previous month and increase by 11.7% compared to the same period in 2023; the accumulated value of industrial production in the first 5 months of the year increased by 4.68% compared to the same period in 2023. The province's export turnover is estimated to reach nearly 3.1 billion USD, with a cumulative value of nearly 13.7 billion USD in the first 5 months of the year, achieving a trade surplus of nearly 4.4 billion USD. In May, the entire province attracted USD 102.6 million in foreign investment capital; accumulating 588.7 million USD in foreign investment capital in the first five months of the year.
At the session, delegates listened to the draft decision on the transfer and acceptance of assets of the Chòm Sao - Suối Đờn drainage axis and the Bình Hòa drainage system; the draft proposal to supplement the budget beyond the 2024 estimate for certain agencies and units as proposed by the Department of Finance; the draft report and resolution on adjusting the investment policy for the BOT project to upgrade and expand National Highway 13. Delegates have discussed and provided opinions on adjusting the overall master plan and zoning plan in the area of Thu Dau Mot city.
In his concluding statement, Mr. Vo Van Minh essentially reached a consensus on the draft report and proposal, while also requesting relevant departments and agencies to incorporate the contents and opinions in order to finalize the upcoming provincial People's Council meeting agenda.
