Nearly 5,200 women get loan for economic development

On December 8, Bau Bang district’s Women’s Union held a conference to review its activities in 2016 and extend orientations, tasks for 2017.

In 2016, the district’s Women’s Unions at all levels continued promoting the “Women actively study, creatively work and build up happy families” emulation movement among members. As a result, there were more than 8,733 women winning the “advanced woman” title.

The district’s Women’s Union also further implemented the “Women saving to help each other in poverty reduction” emulation movement. Accordingly, the whole district set up 332 saving groups with VND9.7billion and 8,746 members, helping 1,063 women get loan for economic development. Besides, the district’s Women’s Union assisted 1,178 members to get VND16.2billion in loan from the local branch of the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies; provided nearly VND2billion in loan for 47 poor female-headed households and 63 poor-near ones, helping them stabilize their lives…
