Nearly VND43bln spent on offering help to the poor
In 2014, provincial Red Cross Societies at all levels mobilized donors to give financial support for more than 41,000 needy cases.
They also mobilized organizations and individuals to present 272 bicycles to Agent Orange victims and poor disabled people; offered help to more than 1,900 funerals; visited and gave gifts for 11,700 members with illness; awarded 2,922 gifts and scholarships to poor pupils with good academic results in the 2013-2014 academic year; built and upgraded 36 “red cross” houses for families in need of housing; provided capital, nurslings and breeding animals with non-interest rate for 13,742 needy officials and members...The total value of the above support activities was estimated at nearly VND43bln.
