Currently, there are many farm economic models with strong development in Hieu Liem commune in Tan Uyen district. Hieu Liem has also taken full advantage of its inner force  from farm economy for new rural construction, contributing to quickly changing the local socio-economic picture.

Unlike other rural communes, Hieu Liem has a diversification about farm economic models. The whole commune is now home to 30 farmsteads, including 4 animal husbandry farmsteads and 26 cultivation ones.  

Hieu Liem commune’s Chanh Hung hamlet is now home to many farmsteads growing green-skinned pomelo with high economic efficiency.

Most farmsteads in Hieu Liem commune have so far reached a stable development, bringing the local farmers a high source of income. One of the commune’s effective farm economic models is to grow various fruits with high economic value, comprising of pomelo, orange, tangerine…According to farmstead owners, each hectare of fruit-growing land can bring them an annual income of between VND300mln and VND350mln.

Sau Xe, Ba Tham, Pham The Hoang, Tran Thanh Co...are well-known as outstanding farmstead owners in Hieu Liem commune. With flexibility and diligence, they have developed a lot of effective economic models, contributing to reshaping the image of Hieu Liem commune. They have made strong investment in capital and absolutely applied sci-tech advancements in production.

Nguyen Thanh Lam, Chairman of Hieu Liem communal People’s Committee said that 100% of fruit-growing farmsteads have been developed with automatic-watering systems and they have also used organic fertilizers and pesticides in a proper way…Over the past time, the local government attached special importance to making investment in terms of electricity, rural traffic, irrigation systems for agricultural production.

Also according to Mr.Lam, Hieu Liem is forwarding its irrigation project to serve a 300 hectare-area specializing in the growing of various fruits at Chanh Hung hamlet. The commune is also implementing a 37 hectare-project on planting green-skinned pomelo under VietGao standards at Chanh Hung hamlet. The project will open up many opportunities for the commune’s fruits to fly further.

The development of the commune’s farmsteads will contribute to fulfilling the local targets on manpower, rural infrastructure construction, cooperation in business…in the process of the local new rural construction. To further promote farm economic models, the local government will attach special importance to making investment in terms of electricity and rural traffic systems for farmsteads’ production; further organize training courses on animal husbandry and cultivation for farmers, set up cooperatives on growing various fruits, build up trademarks for Hieu Liem’s agricultural products…

Lam Thanh Tham, the owner of a farmstead at Chanh Hung hamlet said that the local government has bent on building rural traffic, electricity and irrigation systems to create favorable conditions for farmsteads’ development. Hence, farmstead owners herein will  make contributions to the national target program on new rural construction.

Currently, the establishment of a cooperative on purchasing and consuming agricultural products for farmers in Hieu Liem commune needs to be implemented soon. This will help Hieu Liem fulfill another target on new rural construction.
