Nguyen Dinh Khang further holds position of VGCL Chairman

On December 3, after 3 days of working in the spirit of urgency and seriousness, the 13th Congress of Vietnam Trade Union entered its closing session, in attendance of Truong Thi Mai, Politburo member, Permanent member of the Party Central Committee's and Chairwoman of the Party Central Committee's Organization Commission; Do Van Chien, Secretary of the Party Central Committee and President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF); Bui Thi Minh Hoai, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, the committee's Commission for Mass Mobilization and Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha.

At the closing session, the Executive Board of the 13^th Vietnam General Confederation of Labor for the 2023-2028 tenure introduced 168 members. At the first session of the Executive Board of the 13^th Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (VGCL), Nguyen Dinh Khang was re-elected as Chairman of the VGCL. Vice Presidents of the VGCL for the 2023-2028 tenure include Phan Van Anh, Ngo Duy Hieu, Thai Thu Xuong, Huynh Thanh Xuan, Nguyen Xuan Hung. Nguyen Minh Dung, Member of the Presidium was elected as Chairman of the Inspection Committee of the 13^th VGCL. Binh Duong province have 5 delegates joining the new Executive Board and Nguyen Kim Loan, Chairwoman of provincial Labor Union was elected to join the Presidium of the 13^th VGCL for the 2023-2028 tenure.

The congress voted to approve the Resolution of the 13th Congress of the Vietnam Trade Union for the 2023-2028 tenure to build a comprehensively strong Vietnam Trade Union, with the key task of perfecting its organizational model, attracting and gathering a large number of workers; build up a congtigent of Trade Union officials with intelligence, bravery, enthusiasm, responsibility, prestige and good working methods; build a modern, strong working class, contributing to realizing the aspiration of developing a prosperous and happy country.

The 13th congress proposed three breakthroughs of the term, including promoting collective negotiations, with focus on wages, bonuses, working hours, rest hours, labor safety and hygiene…; focusing on developing trade unionists and establishing grassroots trade unions in non-State enterprises; better performing the task of representing, caring for and protecting legitimate rights and interests, contributing to improving the material and spiritual lives of trade unionists and workers...; striving to get 15 million trade unionists for the whole tenure…
