Nguyen Dinh Khanh, Permanent Vice-Chairman of provincial Labor Union: Trade union congresses at all levels take place on schedule, ensuring quality

Provincial Trade union congresses at all levels for the 2023-2028 tenure have been implemented by trade union organizations as planned. Talking to Binh Duong Newspaper’s reporter, Nguyen Dinh Khanh, Permanent Vice-Chairman of provincial Labor Union shared contents about the organization of Trade Union congresses at all levels towards the 11^th provincial Trade Union congress for the 2018-2023  tenure.

How is the progress of organizing Trade Union congresses at all levels?

- Under the direction of the Presidium of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor on the organization of Trade Unions at all levels towards the 13^th Vietnam Trade Union congress for the 2023-2028 tenure and the direction of provincial Party Committee on the organization of Trade Union congresses at all levels towards the 11th provincial Trade Union congress for the 2023-2028 tenure, provincial Labor Union has set up the Plan No. 21-KH/LDLD dated March 15, 2022 on organizing Trade Union congresses at all levels towards the 11th provincial Trade Union congress while holding a conference to disseminate the organization of Trade Union congresses at all levels for the 2023-2028 tenure, with the motto of "Renewal - Democracy - Solidarity - Development".

According to the plan, grassroots Trade Union congresses are completed ahead of May 31, 2023 and the higher-level ones are fulfilled ahead of July 31, 2023. Particularly, the whole province has 4,036 trade union locals with over 779,000 trade unionists. Among them, 3,601 trade union locals are eligible to hold congresses and mid-term conferences. Up to now, the progress of organizing Trade Union congresses and mid-tenure conferences at 96% and 91%, respectively. The remaining 431 trade union locals have not held congresses and conferences for the reason that they were newly established in 2022 while some trade union locals are awaiting for dissolution, due to enterprises facing bankruptcy...

- How do you assess about the progress and quality of organizing Trade Union congresses at all levels?

 - As of now, the progress of organizing Trade Union congresses at all levels has taken place in accordance with the plan and the guidance spirit of provincial Labor Union. The congresses have properly assessed the movements of civil servants and employees; the results of the implementation of the resolution of the Trade Union congress at the same level and the resolution of the higher-level congress in the last tenure, thereby drawing lessons from experience, clearly analyzing shortcomings and causes to set up goals, directions, tasks, solutions and targets for the next tenure. Through the congresses, we can select Trade Union cadres who are qualified, capable of organizing the implementation of the resolutions of the congress, with enthusiasm, responsibility and prestige in trade union activities and workers' movements; dare fight and protect the legitimate rights and interests of trade unionists and employees; improve the efficiency of trade union activities at the requirements and tasks of the period of accelerating industrialization, modernization and international integration...

- How is the 11^th provincial Trade Union congress for the 2023-2028 tenure, prepared by provincial Labor Union?

- The organization of the 11th provincial Trade Union congress for the 2023-2028 tenure has been urgently prepared by provincial Labor Union, completing contents on schedule of each subcommittee. Regarding the content of personnel and time to hold the congress, provincial Labor Union have set up a project and submitted a proposal for opinions of provincial Party Standing Committee and the Presidium Standing Board of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor  on the time to hold the congress. Up to now, provincial Labor Union has well prepared the content of the draft document to be submitted to the congress. Provincial Labor Union also held a conference to collect opinions from the Executive Committee, the Standing Committee, Trade Union cadres over periods, trade union cadres at all levels and trade unionists, trade unions at all levels. Up to now, the preparation of the draft document to submit to the congress has been consulted and approved by provincial Labor Union six times. Provincial Labor Union has prepared a report to consult provincial Party Standing Committee and the Presidium Standing Board of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor for unanimity on the content of the document and personnel for the congress.

With the fine tradition of the Trade Union organization, under the leadership of the Presidium of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, provincial Party Standing Committee and the unanimity of trade union officials, trade unionists and laborers in the province, we believe that Trade Union congresses at all levels and  the 11th provincial Trade Union congress  will be successful.
