Nguyen Dynasty royal palace in unpublished photos

Many rare photos about rituals and daily life of the Nguyen Dynasty in the early 20th century are on display at an exhibition in Hue City.

 

These photos have never been introduced to the public until now. They appeared in an article about Hue which were archived by a French magazine (Bulletin des Amis du Vieux Huê) in 1885-1954. This magazine also preserved over 600 old books and 30,000 pages with handwriting of famous authors, kings, mandarins of the Nguyen Dynasty.

 

The magazine now introduces these photos at an exhibition about royal rituals and festivals in Hue in the early 20th century at 1 Le Hong Phong, Hue City, which will last on May 13.
