North Tan Uyen District, the hometown of War Zone D today, always has a strong connection between young pioneers and veteran pioneers. The District Veteran Pioneers’ Association and the District Youth Union have cooperated in their activities and created beautiful images of the continuation of patriotism, the sense of building the homeland, protecting the Fatherland.
To uphold the tradition
The heroic tradition of the Vietnamese young pioneers in the wars against France, against the US to protect the national sovereignty has made an imprint in the golden history pages of the nation. The Veteran Pioneers’ Association of NorthTan Uyen District always retain this "fire" by activities and movements in accordance with the actual situation.
In the movement to create its funds, the whole association supported 22 members to borrow money for home-based business development; maintained the project of "Raising piggy bank" to give gifts to poor students learning well; to give gifts to young people who were recruited for military service and support the prevention and control of natural disasters and epidemics. Besides, a movement to regularly take care of the health of poor members and their families has been well implemented by the association. Deceased member’s funerals were also held thoughtfully by the association. On the other hand, the District Veteran Pioneers’ Association advised the Provincial Association, the District Party committees, the District People's Committee of to give gifts, award certificates of merit to typical former pioneers in movements and ensure the implementation of regimes for members.
Veteran Pioneers’ Association and Youth Union of North Tan Uyen District organize the journey "Following in the footsteps of heroes"
In particular, Veteran Pioneers’ Association of North Tan Uyen District always set an example of learning, following the ideas, ethics and lifestyle of President Ho Chi Minh, help each other to do home-based businesses, reduce poverty, actively participate in political activities and patriotic emulation movements, make donations to help the poor, build new rural areas. Every year, 100% members register for the title of cultural families and participate in building a green - clean - beautiful environment.
Women veterans’ movements in the district have also developed, contributed to building society and improve lives. The movements collaborated with communes and hamlets to develop and maintain activities to encourage, support, provide health care, take care of family happiness, children grandchildren nourishing and education, encourage young people to study and work well, ready to join the army to protect the Fatherland, not to commit social evils; to well implement the Party's guidelines and the State's laws; exchange, train skills in daily life and visit poor families, sick members.
Nguyen Van Đua, Chairman of North Tan Uyen District Veteran Pioneers’ Association, said that the association would continue to propagate, encourage its members to implement the Party's guidelines, policies and the State’s laws; set an example to promote the learning, following Ho Chi Minh's ideas, ethics and lifestyle; respond to and take part in local campaigns and movements. The whole association continues to accelerate the “Piggy Bank" movement to raise funds to support members having difficult circumstances in the district; implement, instruct thoroughly regimes according to the Prime Minister's decision for Veteran Pioneers that took part in the resistance wars. On the other hand, the association will strengthen activities for camaraderie, organize visits and give gifts to members having difficult circumstances and sudden illness.
Fostering the love of the homeland
In May, at the contest "Happy - healthy - useful veteran pioneers" held by the District Youth Union and the Veteran Pioneers Association, youth union members were happy as being inspired by veteran pioneers, who enthusiastically made art performances and took part in flower arranging contest with themes reminding of a heroic time. The contest created a chance for veteran pioneers to meet, exchange knowledge and life experience, build a healthy, useful and practical living environment to help veteran pioneers live happily, healthily, usefully, set an example for their children and grandchildren.
North Tan Uyen District Youth Union also paid great attention and actively carried out gratitude work for veteran pioneers in the district. Do Ngoc Loi, Secretary of North Tan Uyen District Youth Union, said: "Every year, Veteran Pioneers Association and Youth Union of the district organize journeys of "I love my country", "Following in the footsteps of heroes". Through each journey, the District Youth Union take care of veteran pioneers having difficult circumstances, give gifts and free health examinations to them. In addition, youth union members and veteran pioneers offered flowers, burnt incense and reviewed traditions at revolutionary addresses in the district and the province. Through these journeys, the District Youth Union wants to develop propaganda about the history and heroic traditions of the veteran pioneer forces in the construction and defense of the Fatherland; at the same time, it is an opportunity for Youth Union to pay tribute to the contributions of former pioneer who sacrificed and contributed greatly to the cause of national liberation, national unification and national construction and development today.
The connection between Veteran Pioneers Association and Youth Union will contribute to the education about the love of the hometown and country; encourage young people to live responsibly with family and society; volunteer for the community; not afraid of difficulties, have the will to rise up in learning and labor; be dynamic, creative, proactively acquire and apply science and technology into work and daily life.
