In the atmosphere of celebrating the 41st anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers' Day (November 20, 1982 - November 20, 2023), Binh Duong provincial Youth Union and the Children’s Pioneer Council have launched and implemented programs and movements to nurture knowledge and love for the homeland and country.
Tan Uyen city Youth Union and Children’s Pioneer Council have collaborated with the Thai Hoa A Primary School to carry out the construction of a map of the administrative divisions of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
Building a reading culture
Binh Duong provincial Youth Union and the Children’s Pioneer Council have recently collaborated with Binh Duong Newspaper to organize the movement of "Read and follow the Children’s Pioneer Union"; and implemented an online radio program (podcast) with the theme of "Fairy Tale Literature" for the 2023-2024 school year at Thai Hoa A Primary School in Tan Uyen city. At the program, the provincial Youth Union and the Children’s Pioneer Council have called on all Youth Union units in the province to participate; at the same time, they have promoted propaganda among the youth leaders, overall leaders of the Youth Union, youth members, and children about the significance and benefits of reading books and reading publications of the Children’s Pioneer Union.
Le Tuan Anh, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Youth Union, said: "The provincial Youth Union has instructed units to organize activities to introduce and exchange topics, sections, articles, and books about the historical traditions of the Youth Union, young heroes, and exemplary children in traditional activities. For the online radio program, Youth Union units organize broadcasts in the units or on the social media platforms of districts, cities, communes, and the provincial Youth Union Council. In addition, they encourage children and overall leaders of the Youth Union to participate in writing news, articles, and literary works for publications, online newspapers, and podcast programs through sections such as cultural and artistic activities for children in Binh Duong, introducing new works, and expressing feelings about poetry and literature for children."
Currently, at school Youth Union units, the "Green Library" model and outdoor reading spaces have been implemented, creating a favorable environment and conditions for students to read books, newspapers, and stories. This will also help develop the habit of reading, enhance knowledge, and promote a reading culture among children.
The nation integrity
With the aim of educating love for the country and the sovereignty of the motherland's territory, the Provincial Youth Union and the Provincial Youth Union Council have implemented the campaign Tu hao mot dai non song launched by the Central Youth Union. Following the guidance of the provincial Youth Union and the provincial Children’s Pioneer Council, the district-level Youth Union and units have implemented the campaign in their respective areas.
In Tan Uyen city, the local Youth Union and Children’s Pioneer Council have collaborated with the Thai Hoa A Primary School Unit to carry out the construction of a map of the administrative divisions of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in the tradition room and the Youth Union room. In addition, the Youth Union units in the province have also implemented projects and ensured the dissemination of information about the map of Vietnam and the display forms placed in important positions. The map introduces the country's maritime region, including the Truong Sa and Hoang Sa archipelagos, and Vietnam's sovereign borders. The Youth Union units have implemented the projects with various innovative methods to ensure extensive propaganda to the youth members.
The campaign Tu hao mot dai non song is a practical activity that educates children about the sovereignty of the motherland, the homeland's islands and seas; thereby nurturing and fostering love for the country and national pride in every child and youth member.
