Nurturing young generation

The province well realized child protection and care over the past years. On the occasion of the 68th anniversary of International Day for Children (June 1, 1949-June 1, 2017) and in response to the Action Month for Children, sectors and authorities at all levels of the province have joined hands to organize a variety of practical activities for children, contributing to nurturing the local young generation.

Useful activities in summer

Provincial Steering Board of Teenagers and Children’s Activities has planned to organize many useful activities for children during the summer vacation 2017, comprising of a contest telling book-based stories, a draw contest, an exhibition on summer books…In addition, the steering board has been ordered to deploy swimming programs for children; mobilize them to take such useful programs as “Semester in army”, “Learning how to become useful citizens”, “Working as a fire fighter in a day”…

The steering board will also open classes on life skills for children; provide them with knowledge and create favorable conditions for them to take part in social services, express their ideas via forums, namely “Children with children”, “Listening to children by heart, protecting them by action”; mobilize organizations and individuals to donate gifts, scholarships to ethnic minority children and those with extremely difficult circumstances.

Giving practical care for children

Along with the whole society, provincial Youth Union and Young Pioneer Organization paid attention to organizing practical activities for children over the past time.

Under the “Small plan” movement, provincial Young Pioneer Organization together with localities and units focused resources on building “red scarf” houses for children with difficult circumstances and implementing activities to improve the material and spiritual lives of children. So far, 15 “red scarf” houses and 36 playgrounds for children have been upgraded with a total value of approximately VND900million.

Nguyen Thi Ngoc Xuan, Vice-Secretary of provincial Youth Union cum Chairwoman of provincial Young Pioneer Organization said that provincial Youth Unions and Young Pioneer Organizations at all levels last year mobilized 5,000 scholarships worth nearly VND3billion for needy children in and out of the province. Especially, on the occasion of the summer vacation, they launched summer activities and festivals for children with significant activities, including awarding scholarships to children with extremely difficult circumstances, making dissemination against accidents and injuries for children, organizing summer campings…

Provincial Young Pioneer Organization also held the 2nd festival for poor-but-excellent pupils; launched the “Lighting dreams of children” scholarship fund for the period of 2016 and 2020; signed an agreement on the implementation of the program to build 10 “red scarf” houses worth VND1billion for needy children in the period of 2016-2020. In addition, provincial Youth Unions and Young Pioneer Organizations at all levels organized mid-autumn festivals for children across the province.
