Preliminary results

The OCOP program was strongly implemented to greatly motivate economic production and business development, and to create jobs and improve incomes for local workers, contributing to economic development of the countryside. Up to now, 31 economic entities in Binh Duong have OCOP certified products with 47 OCOP certified products at 3 stars or more including 8 4-star products and 39 3-star. Many products meet OCOP standards with an ever-expanding consumption market and increasing sales, contributing to improving profits for entities.

Pham Van Bong - Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, said that on the basis of the achieved results, the province continued to direct and set out tasks and solutions to continue the OCOP program for 2021-2025, which is flexible and suitable for the development of product value chains associated with local raw materials. Accordingly, the province requires departments, branches and People's Committees of districts, towns and cities to identify the key task and important economic development program in promoting production associated with development of agricultural goods, non-agricultural goods, and services of advantages in each locality.

Along with organizing propaganda, the province directs to strengthen the organization of training courses to improve management skills for producers and managers implementing the OCOP program at all levels. Trade promotion and advertising activities are organized to support product development consulting and standardization of OCOP, especially, the support to consolidate and upgrade 3-4-star products and to standardize the participating products. Subjects need to change their thinking and awareness about the development of commodity production along the value chain, by constantly improving designs and improving quality to meet the increasing demands of the domestic and export markets.

The promotion

In 2023, in order to continue maintaining the position of the province's agriculture in general and the role of OCOP in particular, it is necessary to focus on coordinating to improve product value, promotion, introduction and trade, consumption and bringing OCOP of the province closer to consumers.

Phan Thi Khanh Duyen - Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade, said that in order to promote trade and widely communicate for OCOP products, the Department of Industry and Trade cooperates with the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and other agencies, related industries and enterprises to coordinate in organizing fairs, conferences and exhibitions, helping enterprises and production facilities to link and find selling channels.

In addition, the Department of Industry and Trade assigns and directs the Center for Investment Promotion, Trade and Industrial Development to be responsible for advising and coordinating with relevant units and agencies to support and promote OCOP seeking sales, expanding the market, and deploying advertising in many different forms. In particular, the Department of Industry and Trade is also reviewing and completing the contents of the project to establish showrooms to introduce typical rural industrial products and OCOP, helping partners and customers to choose and understand the origin and superiority of OCOP.

In addition, trade promotion in the digital technology environment, reputable websites and e-commerce platforms for OCOP of the province are focused on. At the same time, the Department of Industry and Trade has been completing the upgrade of the province's own e-commerce platform at the website www.binhduongtrade.vn to service the promotion and connection of products. It is believed that the promotion of digital technology will make a premise to connect the consumption market not only within the territory but also with international customers and partners. On the other hand, a set of provincial OCOP manuals is produced or integrated with the fields of socio-economic development, investment, tourism, and trade to introduce in-depth products of the company's strengths and characteristics in the province to domestic and foreign customers.
