Offering gifts, scholarships to disadvantaged people and students

Early September 22, provincial Red Cross Society organized a "zero-dong” market-day to donate  gifts to disadvantaged people and award “giving strength to school” scholarships to poor-but-excellent students.

The event was attended by Nguyen Van Loi, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Head of provincial National Assembly deputy delegation; Nguyen Hoang Thao, Permanent Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee; Nguyen Van Loc, Member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Chairman of provincial People's Council.

With the support of units, enterprises and donors, this market-day gave gifts for 300 workers, those with difficult circumstances and members of provincial Blind Association. Each gift included necessities worth more than VND 1 million. At the market-day, provincial Red Cross Society awarded scholarships for September and October 2023 to 100 students with difficult circumstances across the province. Each student also received a gift of moon cake. The total value of the program was more than VND 550 million.

It is known that in the new school year, provincial Red Cross Society will award scholarships to more than 1,000 local students with difficult circumstances with a total cost of more than VND12 billion. Each scholarship is worth VND12 million per year.

On behalf of provincial leaders, Mr. Thao expressed his deep gratitude for the attention and support from sponsors and individuals who have actively supported resources to accompany provincial Red Cross Society in humanitarian work. He also encouraged people with difficult circumstances and students to continue their efforts to rise up in life.
