Offering help to nearly 2,800 needy cases

Phu Giao district’s Red Cross Society in Q1 2016 mobilized more than VND1.4bln from organizations, individuals and offered help to 2,791 needy cases.

Under the campaign of “Each organization, individual should stick to a humanitarian address”, the society mobilized donors to support nearly VND109mln for 504 cases. The society also mobilized more than 2,530 kg of rice worth VND22mln from the “Charity rice jar” model, assisting 234 cases; mobilized donors to offer unexpected support of more than VND55mln to 46 cases and award 32 scholarships worth more than VND28mln to poor pupils…

Such these apart, the society visited, presented gifts to poor families, orphans; built and handed over a “red cross” house to a household in need of housing; provided free medical check-ups and medicine for the poor; performed free cataract surgeries for 33 needy cases…
