After 3 working days, the 2023 Asia Pacific Regional Meeting of the World Trade Centres Association (WTCA APRM 2023) in Binh Duong took place very successfully. This event continues improving the fine cooperation relationship between Binh Duong province and Asia's World Trade Centers (WTCs) in particular and the world’s WTCs in general, promoting trade and global connection.

Increasing opportunities for trade and connection

In 2023, the WTCA Asia-Pacific region decided to choose the WTC Binh Duong New City as the venue for the WTCA APRM 2023 with the theme of "Transforming WTC operations in the digital age”, with the desire of showing strong impacts of technology and innovation of WTCs through management activities of material facilities, exhibitions, trade and investment promotion service activities.

At the event, the WTCA Asia-Pacific region recognized Binh Duong province as a dynamic, creative and transforming locality with a smart, ecological and industrial - urban - service model connected with science and technology, innovation to attract new industrial sectors, investors while improving the skills of the local workers to step up to a higher segment in the industrial value chain.

According to Pamela Pascual, CEO of WTC Metro Manila and Chairwoman of the Advisory Council of WTCA Asia-Pacific, this meeting in Binh Duong brought much success, spreading to WTCAs around the world. With the attention of leaders of Binh Duong province and the active support of WTCA, WTC Binh Duong New City will further achieve more success in the coming time.

Mai Hung Dung, Member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice-Chairman of provincial People's Committee emphasized that the WTCA APRM 2023 was held very successfully, through plenary sessions, dialogue sessions and keynote speeches, eliciting new ideas to drive growth and create connection opportunities in the areas of digital transformation and commercial development; exhibition; real estate; commercial services…He believes that the fine cooperation relationship between Binh Duong province and the WTCs in the Asia-Pacific region in particular and the world’s WTCs in general is increasingly consolidated and developed to strongly promote global trade and connectivity.

New investment and cooperation promoted

Not only encapsulated in plenary sessions and dialogue sessions, the WTC Binh Duong New City also took members to the International Wood Materials and Machinery Fair 2023, industrial parks (IPs) to introduce the model of developing Ips and the business environment of the province to businesses and investors so that they could learn about industrial infrastructure and utilities, opening up opportunities to meet and create connection, promoting their brands and products.

In the framework of the event, the WTC Mumbai of India, WTC Shenyang of China and WTC Binh Duong New City of Vietnam also signed a memorandum of understanding to strengthen economic and trade relations.

Huynh Dinh Thai Linh, Director of the WTC Binh Duong New City shared that through this meeting, Binh Duong will further invite guests in order to promote the local brand to international friends. The event is also an opportunity to exchange experience, create conditions for members to meet, share and discuss potential and development plans for WTCs in the Asia-Pacific region. This is also an activity to continue promoting the implementation of the Binh Duong Smart City Project to build Binh Duong into a smart, modern and sustainable city and strength FDI attraction.

Binh Duong is still boldly innovating its development model, creating a breakthrough in attracting investment, forming up a new growth engine for sustainable development through the promulgation of the "Binh Duong Smart City" project. In order to effectively mobilize resources for investment participation, Binh Duong further strengthens the organization of major international forums. This is also the most effective on-site investment promotion method by letting foreign investors talk about their development and investment environment in the province.

Nguyen Van Hung, CEO of Becamex IDC said that through this event, WTC Binh Duong New City is the youngest and smallest in the WTCA. Therefore, this is also an opportunity for Binh Duong to determine its efforts in accessing new knowledge and visions, grasping the trends of the era in order to build and develop a more and more complete smart city. Besides, this is also an opportunity for Binh Duong to further demonstrate its capability in organization and management while learning and improving its science and technology level to contribute to the effective development of the projects of Binh Duong smart city, Binh Duong Innovation Zone, Smart, Ecological Industrial Park, Science and Technology Industrial Park. In the coming time, WTC Binh Duong New City will shape a new strategy with stronger interaction with members to develop together and be dynamic in the new vision.

WTCA is a global association with a wide network of over 90 countries, 319 WTC members with over 50 years of establishment and development. The Asia-Pacific region is home to 94 WTCs that are actively working to promote global connectivity and local prosperity. Currently, accompanying with WTC Binh Duong New City, there are more than 150 enterprises as connecting members and gradually improving trade promotion support services for the local businesses, attracting exhibitions to Binh Duong province while promoting investment and trade connection with WTC members in Asia with domestic and foreign partners.
