The VIMF 2024 exhibition taking place in Binh Duong from June 19-21, 2024, brings together over 450 organizations and companies from more than 20 countries and territories. The main industries showcased at VIMF 2024 include mechanical engineering, automation, printing technology, warehousing and logistics, robotics, and supporting industries. The exhibition will motivate domestic businesses to concentrate resources on technological innovation, enhance the quality and competitiveness of products, and participate in the global value chain, following the development strategy of priority industries: mechanical engineering, automation, high-tech industrial products, electronics, new energy, and renewable energy. Prominent brands of Siemens, Mitsubishi, Autonics, Hanyoung Nux, Emin, Kawasaki, Fanuc, Logiform, Interoll, Brother, Astec, RTC, Tan Hung, Komogawa, Helukabel, I-motion, Accretech, Degson, IFM, Universal Robot, Wolfram, Eaton, Makitech, Roeders, Zeiss, Hiwin, etc. have been present at the exhibition.
In his speech at the opening ceremony, Mr. Mai Hung Dung, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Deputy Permanent Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, stated that VIMF, held for the 6th time in Binh Duong, has become an annual activity, marking the development of industrial trade in Vietnam in general and Binh Duong in particular. In the context of the strong Fourth Industrial Revolution taking place globally, smart manufacturing and automation are not only inevitable trends but also important leverage to enhance competitiveness and sustainable development for Binh Duong province. With favorable geographical location and developed infrastructure system, Binh Duong is considered the industrial capital of the country with 38 industrial parks (IPs) that have been invested significantly and are an ideal investment destination for foreign investors. Up to now, Binh Duong has more than 4,300 FDI projects that have been granted valid investment registration certificates with a total registered investment capital of over 40.6 billion USD, ranking third in attracting FDI (after Ho Chi Minh city and Hanoi).

To overcome challenges, seize opportunities, it is clear that domestic businesses need to innovate technology, enhance workforce skills, as well as strengthen and expand connections to create a level playing field in the global market. Vietnamese manufacturers need to enhance their competitive advantage by updating machinery, adopting new technologies, increasing productivity, reducing waste, and improving workforce skills.
In the field of processing and manufacturing industry, it currently accounts for 74% of the total registered FDI capital in Binh Duong province. The province is continuing to restructure its domestic industrial network, upgrading existing industrial parks into smart industrial parks with the ability to provide an advanced technology platform, helping investors deploy smart factory models, fast and efficient smart production.

Mr. Mai Hung Dung said that many businesses in Binh Duong have pioneered the application of modern automation technologies in the production and business processes, contributing to enhancing competitive capacity in the market. To develop a sustainable and deep industrial sector, Binh Duong is determined to realize the goal of building the province into a modern industrial center. In the coming time, Binh Duong will continue to prioritize the development of industries with high value-added content, gradually increasing the rate of domestic product localization.
The VIMF 2024 exhibition in the province will once again create opportunities for connecting and promoting trade between equipment suppliers, technology machinery and manufacturers to discuss possibilities of cooperation and expand business networks. The exhibition also supports businesses, especially small and medium-sized enterprises in Vietnam, to increase competitiveness in the industry and manufacturing sector.
