Organizing Mid-Autumn festivals, giving gifts for disadvantaged children

On the nights of September 23 and 24, Phu Giao district’s Red Cross Society in collaboration with the district’s Youth Union and Hue Minh pagoda organized two “Full Moon” festive programs, offering gifts to the local children with difficult circumstances.

Participating in the festivals, the local children were able to watch unicorn, lion, dragon dance and art performances. In addition, more than 1,000 children with difficult circumstances were also given Mid-Autum gifts, comprising of confectionary and lanterns, with a total cost of more than VND 100 million, funded by nun Thich Nu Dieu Thao, Head of Hue Minh pagoda, monks, nuns, Buddhist followers and donors.

*On the evening of September 24, the Organization Board of Binh Thung 1 charity class in Di An city’s Binh An ward in collaboration with donors and volunteers in the city organized a Mid-Autumn festival for children of the class with the theme of "Moon of dreams, welcoming the new school year".

On this occasion, the Organization Board of the Program gave the class’s children 76 gifts worth VND350,000 each, including moon cakes and lanterns; donated 20 “giving strength to school” scholarships worth VND 200,000 each...
