Oustanding blood donors honored

Phu Giao district’s Steering Board for Voluntary Blood Donation, on June 13, held a conference honoring outstanding blood donors in response to World Blood Donor Day 2012.

Reportedly, the district has always taken lead in the voluntary blood donation campaign of the province. The district last year collected 1,064 units of blood or 152% of the projection. In the first half of the year, the district also collected 215 units of blood or 30.7% of the projection.

On this occasion, the district’s Steering Board for Voluntary Blood Donation honored and awarded the district’s People’s Committee’s certificates of merit to 48 outstanding individuals in the voluntary blood donation campaign.

*Early June 12, Dau Tieng district’s Red Cross Society teamed up with the Cho Ray Hospital’s Blood Transfusion and Hematology Center to organize the third blood donation program in response to the “Pink summer” campaign 2012, absorbing 228 locals with 80,000mln blood given.
