Outstanding blood donors honored

Tan Uyen town’s Steering Board of Voluntary Blood Donation, on June 9, held a conference to honor families and honors with 3, 5 and 10 times of voluntary blood donations on the occasion of the World Blood Donor Day (June 14); review its activities in 2015.

The town actively made a task on propaganda and mobilization of voluntary blood donation among locals over the past time. In 2015 alone, the town organized 5 voluntary blood donation stags, absorbing 1,196 participants with 986 units of blood given or 98.6% of the set target.

In 2016, the Steering Board has set a target of collecting 1,250 units of blood. On this occasion, the town also honored 12 families and 132 individuals with 3, 5 and 10 times of voluntary blood donation and above. The town’s People’s Committee also awarded the certificates of merit to 7 collectives and 17 individuals for their excellent achievements in the task of the local voluntary blood donation propaganda and mobilization last year.
