Outstanding families and individuals in voluntary blood donation honored
On the morning of May 16, Ben Cat City Red Cross Society held a conference to honor and reward outstanding blood donors in 2024.
According to the City’s Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation, in 2024, all levels of the Steering Committee successfully motivated, honored, and rewarded efforts to promote voluntary blood donation. This year, the city organized nine blood donation campaigns, resulting in the collection of 2,517 units of blood. Since the beginning of 2025, a further 914 units have been collected, aiding timely emergency services and treatment at medical facilities.
Additionally, the Red Cross at all levels within the city effectively carried out many humanitarian activities. These included organizing seven "Zero-VND Market" sessions during Humanitarian Month, which supported over 760 people with a total value exceeding 379 million VND; built Red Cross houses, provided scholarships to students in difficult circumstances, and organized programs such as "Humanitarian Tet" and "Each organization and individual is associated with a humanitarian address."
During this occasion, the city awarded the Medal for "For Humanitarian Causes" to six individuals and recognized various groups and individuals for their outstanding contributions to the Red Cross movement in 2024. Furthermore, 27 families and 175 individuals who voluntarily donated blood five and ten times were honored. The city also launched a campaign to respond to Humanitarian Month 2025, aiming to foster a spirit of humanitarianism and build a united, caring community.
