Outstanding individuals and collectives of education sector in patriotic emulation movement honored

Early May 21, provincial Department of Education and Training (DoET) solemnly held a conference to honor outstanding individuals and collectives at Binh Duong Radio and Television Station. The event was attended by Vo Van Minh, Vice Secretary of provincial Party Committee and Chairman of provincial People's Committee; Nguyen Van Loc, Member of provincial Party Standing Committee and Chairman of provincial People's Council; other members of provincial Party Standing Committee, along with representatives from departments, agencies and local authorities across the province.

Following President Ho Chi Minh’s teaching that “Emulation is patriotism; those who love their country must emulate”, over the past five years, the local education sector continuously made efforts, fostered solidarity, innovation and achieved many remarkable results in the patriotic emulation movement and commendation work.

During this period, the local sector of education and training achieved notable achievements. Particularly, one collective was awarded the Second-Class Labor Medal; four collectives and twelve individuals received the Third-Class Labor Medal; eleven collectives were honored with the Government's Emulation Flag; twenty-two collectives and one hundred twenty-three individuals were awarded the Certificates of Merit by the Prime Minister. Specifically, provincial DoET was presented with the Emulation Flag and three Certificates of Merit by the Ministry of Education and Training for their outstanding achievements in the emulation movement of “Innovation and Creativity in Management, Teaching and Learning” among the Departments of Education and Training in the Southeastern provinces.

Regarding the special emulation movement of “The entire education sector is united, determined and wholeheartedly striving to prevent, control and overcome the Covid-19 pandemic, successfully fulfilling the academic year's tasks”, more than 7,000 teachers working for provincial DoET and its branches, public and private schools volunteered to join frontline teams in Covid-19 prevention and control.

Notably, under the program of "Internet Connection and Computers for Students”, the entire education sector coordinated with relevant units to deliver nearly 6,000 devices, including tablets, desktop computers and laptops, along with 20,000 data SIM cards and provided financial support for underprivileged students, with a total value of over VND 10 billion.

At the conference, Nguyen Thi Nhat Hang, Director of provincial DOET launched the patriotic emulation movement of the education sector for the 2025–2030 period. On this occasion, provincial People's Committee awarded the Certificates of Merit to 20 collectives and 40 individuals. Provincial DOET presented the Certificates of Merit to 50 collectives and 170 individuals recognized as outstanding models in the local education sector for the 2020–2025 period.
