Outstanding individuals, collectives in caring for AO/dioxin victims honored

Phu Giao district’s Association of Agent Orange(AO) /Dioxin Victims, on July 18, held its second congress for the 2018-2023 tenure.

In the last tenure, the association had a variety of practical activities, contributing to lessening the pain of the local AO victims. Particularly, the association coordinated with provincial Association of Agent Orange(AO) /Dioxin Victims, the district’s Division of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs to mobilize organizations and individuals in and out of the district to build and upgrade two houses worth VND83.5million for the offspring of revolutionary soldiers with AO/dioxin, present 644 gifts worth VND180million to AO victims on Tet and great holidays; teamed up with the district’s Red Cross Society to organize a jogging program themed “Sharing efforts for humanity”, thereby mobilizing 52 gifts worth more than VND38million for revolutionary soldiers hit by AO/dioxin with difficult circumstances.

The congress elected a new executive board of the association for the 2018-2023 tenure with 11 members. On this occasion, the district’s People’s Committee honored 14 outstanding collectives and individuals in taking care of the local AO/dioxin victims between 2012 and 2017.
