Over 21,000 candidates officially register for 10th grade entrance exam
Today (May 28), over 21,000 candidates in Binh Duong province officially commenced the 10th grade high school entrance examination for the 2025-2026 academic year. This marks the inaugural exam conducted under the 2018 General Education Program, signifying a pivotal moment in the education sector. Preparations have been meticulously executed to ensure the examination proceeds safely, seriously, and impartially.
Prepared for the innovation examination
This year, the examination content is crafted to enhance learners' qualities and capabilities, reflecting the innovative spirit of the 2018 General Education Program. As stated by the Department of Education and Training of Binh Duong province, the exam comprises three mandatory subjects: Literature, Mathematics, and Foreign Language. The examination is structured to promote an open approach, emphasizing practicality and encouraging students to apply their knowledge to real-world problem-solving. Approximately 21,000 candidates have registered for this year's exam in the province, with an anticipated 900 examination rooms. The Department of Education and Training has established 47 Examination Councils situated at high schools and secondary schools. Over 2,500 officials and educators from schools and vocational education and continuing education centers have been mobilized to oversee and supervise the examination process.

To date, all preparations at 47 examination councils have been finalized, encompassing facilities, exam security, healthcare, logistics, and the training protocols for exam invigilators, thereby ensuring that the examination is conducted in compliance with regulations, with seriousness, integrity, and fairness.
The 10th grade entrance examination for the 2025-2026 academic year encompasses three subjects: Literature, Mathematics, and Foreign Language. The examination content has been significantly reformed to adopt a more open approach, emphasizing the application of practical knowledge. On the morning of May 28, candidates will undertake the literature examination, which has a duration of 120 minutes. In the afternoon of the same day, candidates will proceed with the English examination, allotted 60 minutes. On the morning of May 29, candidates will complete the mathematics examination, the final compulsory assessment, with a time limit of 120 minutes. Candidates for Hung Vuong High School for the Gifted will proceed with specialized examinations on May 30 and 31. On May 27, the Examination Council will convene to discuss the examination regulations. It is anticipated that the Department of Education and Training will release the exam scores and admission thresholds for grade 10 starting June 18, 2025. Mr. Pham Van Tung, Vice Chairman of Examination Council No. 1 at Hung Vuong High School for the Gifted, reported that this year the council has established 76 examination rooms, including 47 specialized ones. Drawing from prior experience in organizing examinations, the preparation process this year has proceeded with minimal challenges. The school is committed to providing optimal conditions to ensure the examination is conducted safely and successfully.
In anticipation of the 10th grade entrance examination for the 2025-2026 academic year, the Department of Education and Training has advised the Provincial People's Committee to formulate an enrollment strategy and establish a provincial high school enrollment steering committee. Additionally, the Department has released guidelines for 10th grade enrollment for the 2025-2026 school year. It has instructed the district and city Departments of Education and Training, as well as secondary schools, to inform all students and parents of 9th grade students in the province regarding the plan, quotas, and specific regulations governing the entrance examination.
Simultaneously, training and study of professional regulations, skills, and examination procedures are conducted for the personnel and educators tasked with these responsibilities. Educational institutions facilitate review sessions, enhance knowledge, and foster an optimal mindset for students preparing for the examination. The Department also advises educational institutions on enrollment registration, offers technical support, and promptly addresses inquiries throughout the registration process, ensuring that students feel confident as they approach this significant examination.
"Crossing the threshold," realizing aspirations
As they participate in this year's 10th grade entrance exam, each student establishes their own objectives. Regardless of their chosen high school, they all embody determination and hope, approaching the exam with a fervent desire to realize their aspirations.
Pham Thanh Hung, a ninth grader at Nguyen Viet Xuan Secondary School in Thu Dau Mot City, remarked, “The days leading up to the exam are indeed stressful, yet also pivotal, so I am putting forth my utmost effort. From the outset of the year, I have been studying diligently and dedicating considerable time to self-study, with the hope of attaining commendable results.”
Le Manh Hung, a student at Tan Phuoc Khanh Secondary School in Tan Uyen City, expressed his aspiration to enroll in Tan Phuoc Khanh High School, renowned for its longstanding history of accomplishments. In pursuit of this goal, he has dedicated considerable effort in recent times. "At this point, I feel quite confident and will exert my utmost effort; regardless of the outcome, I will have no regrets," Khanh stated.
Immediately following the announcement of exam subjects by the Department of Education and Training, schools in the province took the initiative to assemble a team of seasoned educators with substantial expertise to instruct the three primary subjects. Each institution developed an appropriate review strategy, enabling students to approach the exam with maximum confidence. In the final days leading up to the exam, teachers dedicated their time to tutoring students, meticulously addressing every minor error in essays and clarifying each mathematical problem.

With extensive experience working with senior students, Ms. Le Thi Thanh Hang, a teacher at Binh Phu Secondary School in Ben Cat City, remarked: “For senior students, educators not only convey knowledge but also offer spiritual support. Regardless of the exam's difficulty, teachers have faith in your ability to succeed. While the pressure may be significant, with determination and effort, you will prevail.”
