Over VND 10 billion spent on supporting trade unionists and workers
The Trade Union of Ben Cat city-based Industrial Parks (IPs) has recently held a conference to review Trade Union activities in 2024. The event was attended by Nguyen Tan Dat, Vice Chairman of provincial Labor Union, along with over 200 grassroots trade union officials.
In 2024, the Trade Union of Ben Cat province-based IPs coordinated with relevant units to create jobs for over 6,000 workers, with the average income of workers ranging from VND 7.6 to VND8 million per month. There were 28 enterprises building houses for workers, providing 4,426 accommodations for more than 5,000 workers. Workplace dialogues were organized in 377 enterprises, achieving nearly 150% of the target while 92 enterprises negotiated and signed collective labor agreements, reaching 36.5% of total. On holidays and Tet, the Trade Union distributed 12,578 gifts to trade unionists and workers with difficult circumstances, including those unable to return home for Tet and workers affected by accidents or severe illnesses, with a total value exceeding VND 9.7 billion.
Additionally, the Trade Union of Ben Cat city-based IPs guided and implemented the organization of "Trade Union Meals", resulting in 83 grassroots trade unions hosting the initiative, with the participation of 45,682 trade unionists. The total additional support provided by the Trade Union amounted to over VND 1.8 billion. This practical activity continued affirming the role and responsibility of the Trade Union in better supporting its members and workers. On this occasion, the Trade Union of Ben Cat city-based IPs rewarded collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in the labor movement and trade union activities last year.
