Over VND 2.27 trillion expected to build An Tay river port

Provincial People's Committee has approved the list of investment projects using land to organize the selection of investors for the An Tay river port project. The objective of the project is to serve freight transport activities, forming up a chain of logistics services and other support service activities related to transportation.

An Tay River Port project is adjacent to the Saigon river in the south of An Tay commune in Ben Cat town. It is expected that the land area will be 100 hectares, with total investment of more than VND2.27trillion, implemented from 2023 to 2027. The project includes the following items: office, warehouse, technical infrastructure, harbor, road and drainage channel. Its capacity is expected to reach 7 million tons/year by 2030. The fleet is capable of receiving watercrafts up to 3,000 tons.

When being put into operation, An Tay river port will play an important role in the socio-economic development of Binh Duong province; attracting the transportation of freight from Tay Ninh, Binh Phuoc and Central Highlands provinces. The advantage of An Tay River Port is to connect most industrial parks, avoiding traffic jams, connecting with Ho Chi Minh city, Cat Lai and Cai Mep ports.
