Tan Uyen district’s Red Cross Society has just reviewed its movements at schools for the 2011 and 2012 school year.

The district’s Red Cross Society now has 40 affiliates at schools with more than 5,300 members. So far, 100% of the affiliates have set up youth volunteers’ clubs with more than 1,200 members.

The Red Cross movements of the district-based schools were implemented effectively in the last school year. Noticeably, the “piggy bank” movement collected more than VND1.17bln, offering help to nearly 5,000 poor pupils…

On this occasion, the district’s Red Cross Society awarded 40 scholarships worth between VND400,000 and VND600,000 each to poor-but-excellent pupils and collected more than 121mln from the “piggy bank” movement at its 62 affiliates. This fund will be used to award scholarships to poor-but-excellent pupils in the 2012 and 2013 school year.
