Over VND11billion spent on humanitarian activities

On December 31, Tan Uyen district’s Red Cross Society held a conference to review its activities in 2019, define orientations, tasks for 2020.

The town’s Red Cross Society last year implemented a lot of humanitarian activities, especially the “Tet for the poor and Agent Orange victims” program with a total value of more than VND11billion, offering help to 64,599 needy cases. Particularly, the society and its branches mobilized organizations, individuals to visit and offer 7,653 gifts; supported 165 needy people under the campaign of “Each organization, individual should stick to a humanitarian address”; presented 14,215 gifts to disadvantaged people; awarded 1,221 scholarships, 73 bicycles and 200 schoolbags to poor-but-excellent pupils…

On this occasion, the town’s Red Cross Society launched the “Tet for the poor, Agent Orange victims” movement 2020 and received VND310million from donors.
