Over VND23billion spent on supporting the poor, AO victims

Under the “Tet for the poor and Agent Orange (AO) victims” movement 2017, provincial Red Cross Societies at all levels have offered help of VND23.7billion to 53,287 needy people and AO victims.

The movement received enthusiastic response from people from all strata, contributing to building up a strong Red Cross organization and improving members’ ability of humanitarian mobilization.

Along with support on money, essential goods, provincial Red Cross Societies at all levels gave sustainable help for the poor, including donating “red cross” houses, providing poor patients with free meals, offering notebooks, books to needy pupils…over the past time. They also flexibly associated the “Tet for the poor and AO victims” movement with the campaign of “Each organization, individual should stick to a humanitarian address”.
