Over VND278bil spent for taking care of poor and privileged people's Tet

On Feb. 7, the provincial People's Committee office said that on Tet holiday 2014 despite difficulties in 2013, the provincial administration maintained amount of Tet expenditures like 2013's Tet holiday.

The provincial department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs director (third, right) grants Tet gifts to heroic mothers.

Besides, the provincial authority steered to increase 20% of Tet expenditures for heroic mothers, war invalids and martyrs' relatives and sanitation workers. On the 2014 Tet holiday, the local administration spent VND278.365bil to take care of poor, privileged people. Of this, VND3.544bil was from central budget and VND187.258bil from local budget and VND87.563bil from mobilized sources. Additionally, the provincial administration launched and completed gift visits to poor people and children, earmarked VND50,471bil to assist needy workers and spent over VND3.4bil to grant 6,900 gifts to underprivileged migrant workers.
