Over VND500mln spent on social charity activities

Dau Tieng district’s Red Cross Society has so far carried out many social charity activities with a total expense of more than VND500mln under the movement of “Each organization, individual should stick to a humanitarian address”.

Particularly, the society provided 73 members with rice and money of VND12.5mln, gave unexpected support of VND6.3mln for 12 members; supported needy funerals and visited 113 members with illness with a total expense of more than VND70mln; presented 106 gifts worth VND70mln to needy people; built a “red cross” house worth VND35mln; granted 3 health insurance cards worth VND2.8mln for poor pupils; provided VND180mln in loan for 43 members…

The society also mobilized members to contribute more than 240 working days to making environment hygiene; provided free meals for 2,105 poor people with a total value of more than VND31mln. All the above activities opportunely offered help to more than 8,000 poor people over the past time, contributing to stabilizing the local social welfare.
