Overseas Vietnamese pianist plans HCMC concert

French-Vietnamese pianist Gabriel Tran Phuong Nam will entertain Ho Chi Minh City music aficionados with a solo piano performance at the city’s Conservatory on August 24. His programme includes masterpieces by composers like Chopin, Franz Liszt, Claude Debussy, and Joseph Haydn, and the traditional romantic duet Beo Dat May Troi. Nam began studying piano at the Conservatory of Music in Noisy-le-Sec when he was only six years old. He has won several international piano awards, earning gold medals at the Claude Kahn Competitions in Paris (2003), in Sucy-en-Brie (2005), and Lagny-sur-Marne (2009). VOV
