P&G Vietnam Co., a 20-year constant development

Twenty years ago, in response to Binh Duong province’s policy rolling out the red carpet to absorb investment, P&G Vietnam Co. officially began its production and business activities in the province. With the efforts by all staff, the company constantly developed during the past 20 years. This is seen as a memorable and significant landmark for the evolution of the company.

Highlights

After 20 years of development, P&G Vietnam Co. has become one of Vietnam’s leading units in chemical cosmetic industry. The company has constantly researched and improved its production lines; built up a highly skilled workforce to be able to further develop P&G Vietnam trademark and supply the best products for the domestic market.

P&G has so far made 14 hi-quality brands winning the faith of customers worldwide, namely Ariel, Pampers, Downy, Pantene, Tide, Head & Shoulders, Gillette…, contributing to improving the quality of life of Vietnamese people. Thanks to having a threefold increase in investment capital over the past years, the above brands reached a robust growth and contributed to helping the company take fruits in production and business during the past 20 years.

With achievements done, P&G Vietnam Co.has continued making production expansion. The company has just started construction of its Gillette factory at VSIP IIA with a total investment capital of more than US$100mln on the occasion of its 20th anniversary. This is part of the company’s long-term plan on firm infrastructure construction for supplying products for Vietnam and Asian region.

At the ceremony marking the company’s 10th anniversary, company General Director Emre Olcer said: “This is an event affirming the company’s commitment making contributions to the long-term development of Vietnam’s economy. The company’s main goal during the past 20 years was to have a thorough grasp on Vietnamese customers, contributing to improving their lives. And it is sure that the goal remains unchanged in the coming time. Building the company’s Gillette factory in Binh Duong is seen a demonstration for the company’s long-term commitment making contributions to socio-economic development of Vietnam in general and of Binh Duong in particular…”.

Steady paces in the future

P&G Vietnam Co.’s current achievements are seen as “sweet fruits” of the constant efforts by all company staff during the past 20 years.

The company has also attached special importance to human resources by absorbing and keeping Vietnamese talents. So far, the company has had a total of 30 Vietnamese staff working abroad. 95% of the company’s staff are Vietnamese and 50% of the company’s managing board are also Vietnamese. It has been recognized as an ideal recruiter and was among Vietnam’s 100 best places to work in 2013…

With achievements done, P&G Vietnam Co. was Binh Duong’s first foreign invested company awarded the third-class Labor Medal of the State President in 2009. The company was also appreciated as one of the province’s active factors as it not only completed targets in production and business, but also excelled at realizing the social responsibility of an enterprise over the past time.

At the ceremony, Tran Van Nam, Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee cum Chairman of provincial People’s Committee said that P&G Vietnam Co. made positive contributions to the province’s socio-economic development over the past time. In 2014, it was among Binh Duong’s top foreign invested enterprises with the highest State budget payment. The company has so far developed its five projects in the province.

Mr.Nam also hoped that the company would further make production expansion in the province and soon put its Gillette factory into operation to supply hi-quality products for the domestic market…
