Party Congress of Vietnam Water Supply Sewerage Association (2015-2020 tenure)

On Oct 31^st, the 5^th Party Congress of Vietnam Water Supply Sewerage Association (2015-2020 tenure) took place in Binh Duong province. Attendants were Phan Thi My Linh, Deputy Minister of Construction; Mai The Trung, Member of Party Central Committee, Head of provincial NA’s delegation; Tran Van Nam, Secretary of Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Provincial People’s Committee; heads of Water Supply Sewerage Associations of 63 provinces and cities across the country.

After more than 25 years, Vietnam Water Supply Sewerage Association has grown continuously. There are now over 81% urban population using clean water, reaching 100% target. The percentage of water loss in 2010 was 31%, while this percentage decreased by 24.5% in 2015. Particularly, this rate of Binh Duong province fell by 8%. The amount of used water is 100 liters / person / day, water supplying services is maintained with 14 to 20 hours / day. Type 1 and type 2 urban area guarantee 24/24 water supplying services. Water supply sewerage in localities has been gradually socialized; facilities, machinery have been localized. 15 collectives and 1 individual received certificates of merit from Ministry of Construction for good achievements in the last tenure.

On this occasion, Cao Lai Quang, the 4^th Chairman of Vietnam Water Supply Sewerage Association (2010-2015 tenure), presented VND50 million to Binh Duong Provincial Association of Agent Orange Victims.

The Congress also elected the 5^th Party Executive Committee of the 2015-2020 tenure including 75 members. Cao Lai Quang - the 4^th Chairman – was reelected as the 5^th Chairman of Vietnam Water Supply Sewerage Association (2015-2020 tenure).
