Party leader visits Maharashtra state

Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong met with Governor Kateekal Sankaranaryanan of the Indian state of Maharashtra – his last stopover of his visit to India. Party General Secretary of Vietnam Nguyen Phu Trong (L) encouraged stronger business links between Vietnam and India The governor noted Vietnam and India have treasured the long-standing friendship and both peoples have supported each other during their past struggles for national independence and the current cause of national development. Party leader Trong said he was happy to visit Maharashtra state and Mumbai city – India’s most powerful economic-financial centre. He said the Party, State and people of Vietnam bear in mind the wholehearted support and valuable assistance given by Indian people, including those from Maharashtra state. He briefed his host on the result of his talks and meetings with senior Indian leaders that focused on measures to boost the multifaceted cooperation between Vietnam and India and their localities as well. He spoke highly of recommendations made at the Vietnam-India business forum in Mumbai and encouraged stronger and more effective cooperation between the two business communities. The governor welcomed the result of the forum and expressed his belief bilateral relations will further develop in the future. VOV
