Performances are ready for National Hung Kings’ Death Anniversary

 This year, Binh Duong Provincial People’s Committee decides to organize National Hung Kings’ Death Anniversary in Hung Vuong High School along with ceremony and traditional games, bringing people back to the past.

 

Up to date, the planned play is approved for Provincial Culture Center and Binh Duong Traditional Performance team to take part in.

 

Participants are preparing for the events.

From 7:00, April 23rd, camping will start in Hung Vuong High School with traditional games followed up. Besides, students also join in contest of cooking and flowers and fruits decorations. The best cakes and fruits will be offered.

The ceremony is designed to start by 20:00 on April 23rd (March 10th of the lunar calendar). Some 51 school students will receive the torch from Binh Duong Museum and tracking their way to Hung Vuong High School before offering to the altar in the central place of the stage.

 

In the themed song of “Linh thieng mot coi tien rong” (Holiness of Fairies and Dragons), 40 school students with candles will dance while 60 others will offer cakes and flowers to show gratitude to nation makers.

 

The most solemn part of the ceremony will be incense and martial arts offerings similar to what have been done by the ancestors to worship Hung Kings.

 

The performing arts will be fascinated with 35-minute performance of Binh Duong Traditional Performance team, going through 4 dancing and singing plays of “Mot me tram con” (mother of hundred children), “Nam quoc son ha” (The nation, mountains and lands), “Me Au Co” (Au Co mother), and “Binh Duong ngay moi” (new day in Binh Duong). There are also other songs depicting the making of a nation by Hung Kings.

 

In smaller scale, the event in Thuan An will start by 18:30 April 23rd with ceremonies of speeches and martial arts. The festive atmosphere is promising in Thuan An district all day long of April 23rd.

 

Hung Kings’ Death Anniversary has become a symbol of strength and unity of culture, and spiritual values of Vietnamese ethnic communities. It is original and influential to people’s life.
