Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh pays visit to VGU
Early April 8, Politburo Member and Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh paid a visit and held a working session at the Vietnamese-German University (VGU). The event was attended by Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son; leaders from several ministries and central agencies; Vo Van Minh, Vice Secretary of provincial Party Committee and Chairman of provincial People’s Committee.

During the working session, Dr. Ha Thuc Vien, Vice Principal of VGU presented a brief report on the university's key achievements and development orientations. He also submitted proposals and recommendations, including the university’s desire to receive the Government’s support in developing specialized training programs in finance, risk management and financial technology (fintech) as well as establishing connections with German enterprises for the implementation of applied research projects to Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh.
Additionally, the university proposed to enhance cooperation with the state of Hessen and international financial organizations to build a comprehensive training and research ecosystem. This will contribute to supplying high-quality human resources for financial centers in Vietnam. After hearing the opinions of VGU lecturers, provincial leaders and representatives from various ministries, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh expressed agreement with VGU’s goal of becoming a world-class university and a “lighthouse” in strengthening Vietnam-Germany relations, especially in education and training, serving as an important and close-knit bridge between the two countries in the future.
Permanent Deputy Prime Minister encouraged VGU to take full advantage of its cooperation with the state of Hessen and German organizations to train high-quality human resources in finance, technology and management—key elements for the development of International Financial Centers. He also urged German professors to engage in policy discussions with the Vietnamese Government to attract German partners and encourage German enterprises to invest in and contribute to the development of financial centers in Vietnam, thus promoting digital transformation and innovation, in line with the spirit of the Resolution 57-NQ/TW.
