On the evening of September 29th, at the Provincial Conference and Exhibition Center, the opening ceremony of the National Festival of Singing, Dancing, and Music 2024 - Phase 2 took place. The festival is a professional cultural and artistic activity, held every 3 years. This is an opportunity for artists and actors to showcase their talents as well as introduce artistic works to the public.
The convergence of regional cultures
The National Festival of Song, Dance, and Music is organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in coordination with the Vietnam Musicians Association, the Vietnam Dancers Association, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Binh Duong province, and other relevant agencies and units. The festival is held regularly every three years.
Due to the impact of Yagi, the first phase scheduled to be held in Vinh Phuc province has not been implemented. The second phase involves the participation of nearly 1,500 artists from 24 units nationwide, including professional art units in and outside the public sector; art units under the armed forces; symphony, music, and dance units in and outside the public sector nationwide.
The performance of "Khuc trang ca Song Be" (the glorious song of Song Be) is conducted by the Cultural Center of Binh Duong province.
Each unit participating in the performance of a program, a play with a duration of 60-110 minutes, in various forms: Variety music, Western art forms (symphony, musical, ballet, opera, broadway, etc.). The programs, performances, and plays participating in the festival have themes and content that praise the country, the Vietnamese people, and showcase the cultural characteristics of ethnic groups and regions, demonstrating the richness and diversity of the arts.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will award gold and silver medals to programs and performances associated with the creative elements of the program and performance; award gold and silver medals to acts and roles associated with artist groups or individual performers.
According to the proposal of the Art Council, the Organizing Committee will also award outstanding prizes for artistic direction, program directing, performances, orchestra conducting, composers, choreographers, artists, costume design, lead singers, lead dancers, and principal musicians.
According to Mr. Ta Quang Dong, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Head of the Steering Committee of the National Festival of Music, Dance, and Song in 2024 (phase 2) is an opportunity for artists to exchange and learn experiences; at the same time, it allows audiences across the country to enjoy outstanding and exquisite artistic performances, thereby contributing to the development of the national music and dance genre and creating a cultural and artistic bridge between regions.
The organizers expect that the festival will affirm the significant role of art in promoting, preserving, and promoting the cultural identity of the nation; at the same time, it will stimulate creativity and the development of performing arts in Vietnam.
Image broadcasting opportunities
After the opening ceremony, Binh Duong Provincial Cultural Center was the first unit to participate in the festival, bringing 12 performances with the theme "The Call of the Power Source". The meticulous preparation, diverse genres, and professional performances of the artists and actors brought emotional moments of music to the audience attending the event at the auditorium and friends everywhere through the live television broadcast of Binh Duong Radio and Television Station and other localities.
Mr. Tran Thanh Son, Director of the Binh Duong Provincial Cultural Center, said that Binh Duong participated in the festival with the theme "The Call of the Power Source". "Through the program, the unit wants to send to the festival the various emotions about the distinctive culture of Binh Duong, a land rich in revolutionary struggle with the names of land and people that have gone down to history, imprinting the cornerstone in the two wars for freedom, independence, as well as the achievements of Binh Duong today," Mr. Tran Thanh Son added.
