Phu Giao district to support development of model industrial agricultural products

Every 2 years, the selection of exemplary rural industrial products is organized to create positive effects, encourage production facilities to continue investing, building brands, enhancing value to increase competitiveness, and create momentum for products to reach further in the market.

Priority made to main and potential products

In recent years, Phu Giao district has focused on integrating resources from various programs and projects to support key industries and products. In 2024, the district has 13 products registered to participate in the selection of exemplary rural industrial products at the district level. After 2 rounds of surveys and voting, Twelve products and product sets were recognized and issued certificates by the district People's Committee.

The group of agricultural, forestry and seafood processing products consists of 10 products, including bird's nest, pork sausage, lingzhi mushroom spawn, banana wine, cat apple, codonopsis, eucommia bark, plywood, and cospha board... The other group of products includes 2 products, which are compressed tablets and round nylon ropes. For production facilities, having typical rural industrial products at all levels will build trust with consumers and partners.

Le Van Thang's business (in Phuoc Vinh town) has been producing and trading traditional pork rolls since 1992, and has built a reputation with customers. With the desire to elevate the traditional product to new heights, Thang's family has invested in machinery to save labor costs and increase production. According to Thang, being granted the rural industrial certification is an honor and also a great responsibility for the establishment to continue maintaining and improving the quality of the products.

Also recognized as a typical rural industrial product in 2024, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Quyen, owner of the rubber cord processing and manufacturing facility (Phuoc Hoa commune), shared: "The rubber cord processing and manufacturing profession was passed down by my parents, and it is produced using traditional manual methods. In the future, I have improved and invested in machinery to reduce labor and decrease manpower. Previously, one day could only produce 200kg of wire, thanks to the machinery, the output has increased significantly. Currently, the facility maintains 7 regular workers.

According to Mrs. Huynh Ngoc Anh, Head of the Economic Department of Phu Giao district, the process of organizing the selection of typical rural industrial products is carried out based on the principles of democracy, transparency, and compliance with regulations. As a result, a number of products with great development potential have been selected for certification and commendation, while also proposing registration to participate in the selection of exemplary rural industrial products at the provincial, regional, and national levels.

To improve quality and build up brands

Phu Giao District identifies the development of industry and handicrafts as an important driving force, creating breakthroughs in socio-economic development. The development of rural industry not only creates employment and increases income for workers but also contributes to the economic restructuring, building new rural areas, promoting urbanization and modernization of agriculture and rural areas.

Phu Giao District currently has over 600 enterprises, including industrial and cottage industry production facilities, with various economic components, attracting about 4,000 workers. To enhance the rural industrial products, the district encourages enterprises and production facilities to apply scientific and technological advancements, improve quality, reduce costs, and increase labor productivity. In addition, the district supports capital sources, human resource training, and promotes products through trade fairs, exhibitions, and e-commerce channels.

Mr. Doan Van Dong, Chairman of Phu Giao District People's Committee, said that in the context of deepening international economic integration and increasing fierce competition, it is extremely important to improve the quality, design, and brand building of products. Enterprises and production facilities need to continue to promote their achievements, constantly improve techniques, innovate technologies, enhance management capacity, aim for green and sustainable production. At the same time, it is necessary to focus on building and protecting the brand, expanding the consumer market, especially exports.

On the other hand, the People's Committees of communes and towns need to promote information and propaganda activities to explain the purpose and significance of the voting program in the area under their management, so that facilities and businesses are aware and register to participate. The district authorities and departments will support businesses and facilities in completing the relevant legal procedures related to the voting criteria to ensure that they have sufficient documents to participate.
