Phu Giao maintains the "green zone", accelerating development

On November 15, Nguyen Van Loi, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Head of provincial National Assembly Deputy Delegation; Nguyen Loc Ha, member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice-Chairman of provincial People's Committee and leaders of a number of departments and sectors in the province had a working session with Phu Giao district’s Party Standing Committee about the local socio-economic development, national defense-security in the first 10 months of 2021. Provincial leaders also attended the groundbreaking ceremony for construction of the road from Tam Lap bridge to Dong Phu under the North Tan Uyen - Phu Giao - Bau Bang arterial road project.

Stable economy, pandemic under control

Reporting to provincial leaders, Doan Van Dong, Chairman of Phu Giao district People's Committee said that since early this year, although facing many difficulties, due to thevcomplicated developments of the pandemic, with the solidarity and support from the province, up to now, the pandemic situation in the district has been basically controlled. Specifically, the district’s agricultural production value was estimated at more than VND 5trillion. The district’s value of industry and home industry production was estimated at more than VND 4.61trillion, up 9.42% over the same period last year or 97.71% of the year’s plan. The district’s total retail sales revenue of goods and services was estimated at more than VND8.51trillion, up 16.93% against the same period last year or 97.43% of the year’s plan. In addition, the district has continued effectively implementing solutions to speed up the progress of compensation, site clearance and construction of works with a total disbursement value of public investment capital reaching 58% of the plan. The district has also continued controlling Covid-19 pandemic well, maintaining the "green zone".

Mr. Ha said that returning to the state of safe, flexible adaptation to and effective control of Covid-19 pandemic, speeding up the capital disbursement and implementation of works and projects in the district will contribute to promoting the local socio-economic development. Therefore, the district needs to be flexible for works in the direction of priority fields in management and allocation of public investment capital. The district also needs to promote socialization in the fields of investment, proactively prepare a clean land fund to serve the local development, especially land planning, creating a resettlement land fund to serve projects in the coming time.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Loi spoke highly of achievements done by the district. Phu Giao district made efforts in leadership, direction and administration to achieve and exceed a number of targets on socio-economic development, national defense and security while well ensuring Covid-19 prevention and control. Provincial Party Committee Secretary also noted that the time from now to the end of the year is not long, so the district needs to focus on solutions to complete the remaining targets. The district needs absolutely not to be subjective, negligent in Covid-19 prevention and control. In a state of safe adaptation to the pandemic, the district needs to prepare the best plan for handling the worst situation, further make efforts in maintaining the "green zone" of the province and protecting the local anti-pandemic achievements.

Creating motivation for development

Over the past 10 months, Phu Giao district made efforts in disbursing public investment capital for the local projects and works at nearly 60% of the plan. The district has also defined traffic projects as the "key" to create a motivation for socio-economic development. The North Tan Uyen - Phu Giao - Bau Bang arterial road is considered as an important project for socio-economic development in the northern districts of the province.

Nguyen Thi My Hang, Secretary of the district’s Party Committee, Chairwoman of the district’s People's Council said that the road from Tam Lap bridge to Dong Phu under the North Tan Uyen - Phu Giao - Bau Bang arterial road project is a work with very important significance in socio-economic development, national defense and security of the province in general and the district in particular. “The project will create a corridor connecting the region with neighboring provinces, creating favorable conditions for people and enterprises in circulation and transport of goods, promoting the local sustainable socio-economic development. This is a project with great expectations from the district’s Party Committee and people. The local people wanted that provincial Party Committee and People's Committee will further pay attention to investing in key infrastructure projects in the district, contributing to creating a breakthrough to help the district develop quickly and sustainably, soon becoming a model new-style rural district", Ms. Hang said.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony of the road project from Tam Lap bridge to Dong Phu, Mr. Ha acknowledged and praised the efforts by leaders of the district, departments and sectors to complete procedures to start construction for works, especially in site clearance. He also emphasized that this is an important traffic project connecting North Tan Uyen, Phu Giao, and Bau Bang districts with Binh Phuoc province’s Dong Phu district. In addition, he asked for the district to coordinate with construction units to strictly implement rules on Covid-19 prevention and control with the motto of "Safety is for production, production must be safe". Especially, the province’s functional agencies need to closely monitor, ensuring the work that is done on schedule with quality.

Possibly speaking, construction of the project contributes to promoting public investment, disbursement, creating new confidence and impetus in the context that Binh Duong is implementing the Resolution No.128 of the Government on safe and flexible adaptation to, effectively control of the Covid-19 pandemic, stabilizing socio-economic development. The project is expected by the people of Phu Giao district in particular and the northern regions of the province to be a lever for development.

The road from Tam Lap bridge to Dong Phu under the North Tan Uyen - Phu Giao - Bau Bang arterial road project is a key project with great significance, forming up an arterial traffic axis with regional connectivity, creating a driving force for socio-economic development and ensuring national defense and security in the northern districts of Binh Duong in particular, the two provinces of Binh Duong and Binh Phuoc in general. The total investment of the project is over VND 965 billion. With 12.15km in length and 23.5m in width, it is designed with 6 lanes with a speed of 80km/h.
