Phu Giao’s industry-trade promoted

Realizing the importance of industry-trade sector to the local development, Phu Giao focused on promoting them over the past time. For stronger development, the district’s Party Committee has issued an Action Program No.22a on industry and home industry development for the period of 2016-2020 (briefly called the Action Program 22a).

Nguyen Tan Long, Deputy Head of Phu Giao district’s Division of Economics said that under the Action Program 22a, the district’s People’s Committee has conducted functional agencies to give advice on solutions to develop industry-trade sectors. Accordingly, the district has attached special importance to building markets, supermarkets and plazas so that the local trade sector will get better.

Thanks to well realizing targets on industry, home industry and trade-services development, the district’s industry-trade sector has reached vigorous development. In 2017, the district’s production value of industry and home industry was estimated at nearly VND3trillion, up 12.38%. The district’s total retail sales revenue of commodities and services was more than VND4.17trillion, up 20.27% compared to 2016. The proportion of industry, home industry and services accounted for 60.3% of the local economic structure while agriculture occupied 39.7%.

The district has also formed up some main industry and home industry sectors, including food processing, mineral processing-exploitation, building material production, woodwork processing…So far, the district has developed 2 industrial parks and 5 industrial compounds.

In terms of trade, the whole district is now home to 5 markets operating very effectively. Some communes, namely An Binh, An Thai…, have also set up temporary markets at people’s demand of buying and selling commodities. The district has also paid more attention to industrial promotion activities, thereby helping many facilities and enterprises to surmount difficulties; encouraging them to apply sci-tech advancements into production in order to make hi- quality products for better development…

In 2018, the district will further concentrate on well realizing solutions on industry, trade-services development. As a result, since early this year, the district’s production value of industry and home industry has been estimated at more than VND702billion, up 14.32%. The district’s total retail sales revenue of commodities and services has also reached more than VND1trillion, a year-on-year increase of 19.34%. For market control, the district has carried out 29 inspection tours with 20 wrong cased handled.

On the Tet (Lunar New Year) festival, the district’s People’s Committee also coordinated with provincial Department of Industry and Trade and Citimart Binh Duong to organize goods selling programs with stabilized prices, thereby contributing to stabilizing the market and facilitating people’s demand for shopping with quality ensured and prices stabilized.

With industrial parks, compounds plus a fully made market system, the district’s industry, trade-services sector will enjoy advantages to develop in the coming time.
