Phuoc Vinh strives to soon become a fourth-class city

Thanks to the efforts by the local Party, government and people, Phuoc Vinh township in Phu Giao district have made considerable changes in socio-economic development. The township now puts focus on realizing targets of the Resolution of the local Party congress to be able to soon become a fourth-class city in the coming time.

Basic premises

Phuoc Vinh township today has a lot of strong changes in socio-economic development. Noticeably, the township has developed a synchronous infrastructure system. Trade-services, production facilities have also loomed large across the township. Over the past time, emulation movements were launched in the township, promoting the local socio-economic development and improving locals’ material and spiritual lives.

Nguyen Van Rua, Secretary of Phuoc Vinh township’s Party Committee said that thanks to the sound leadership of the local Party Committee, the township has got more and more thriving. As of late 2015, the township made a shift on economic structure with 42.7% of trade-services, up 0.5%; home industry of 31%, up 0.2%; agriculture of 26.3%, down 0.3% compared to 2014. The number of the local poor households reduced to 39 or 1.1% of total. There were 100% of local households in use of clean water. The township also well realized social welfare policies as stipulated; paid more attention to State administration over construction, land, urban traffic infrastructure…

Corresponding to the scale being a central face of the district

The Resolution of the township’s 12^th Party congress for the 2015-2020 tenure has set up a target of developing the locality into a fourth-class city. The development will assert the central role of the township, further upholding all advantages at locals’expections.

According to Mr.Rua, all results on socio-economic development, national defense-security done during the past time will be basic foundations for the township to concretize the above target. The township’s Party Committee has bent on directing the implementation of the Resolution of the local 12^th Party congress while devising plans concretizing the set tasks and targets based on the Resolution.

“In order to successfully realize a target of soon developing the locality into a fourth-class city, the township has advised the district’s Party Committee and People’s Committee on devising proper planning orientations, including those of rebuilding Phuoc Vinh market, calling for investment to develop plazas, making an overall plan on Phuoc Vinh urban development…”, Mr.Rua said. He added that the township will also strive to reach the average income per capital of between VND40mln and VND45mln per year; achieve and exceed the local target of State budget collection…

Such these apart, the township will concentrate on making the local shift of economic structure with 47% of trade-services, 30.5% of home industry, 22.55% of agriculture. The township will try to reach a growth of 6%-7%, 10%-12% and 25%-30% in value of agricultural production, home industry and trade-services, respectively. Implementing civilized urban lifestyle, the township will remove breeding facilities from residential areas; observe traffic regulations; well treat daily waste. All will contribute to making the township’s target of becoming a fourth-class city come true, corresponding to the scale being a central face of the district, he said.
