Plan on Action Month for Food Safety implemented

Thuan An city’s People's Committee has just implemented a plan on the 2021 "Action Month for Food Safety".

Under the plan, members of the city’s Steering Committee for Food Safety will strengthen propaganda activities on the local issues relating to food safety from April 15 to May 15, thereby helping organizations and individuals improve their responsibility in implementing regulations on food safety.

The city’s functional sectors will also promote inspection and supervision over food safety at food producing, trading and advertising establishments in key areas. The plan also aims at enhancing the role and responsibility of authorities at all levels, social organizations and consumers’ supervision for compliance with regulations on food safety and minimizing the risk of food poisoning.

In order to effectively implement the above plan, Nguyen Thi Hien, Vice-Chairwoman of the city’s People's Committee suggested members of the city’s Steering Committee of Food Safety and its branches to promote propaganda on food safety. In addition, the city’s functional agencies will continue promoting visual propaganda by panels and banners.

In the inspection work, the city’s functional agencies, People's Committees of communes and wards need to develop inspection plans in line with the local real situation in order to avoid overlapping when checking. They also need to have close coordination, resolutely handle serious wrong cases and then announce them on the mass media.
