PM Dung meets Cambodian King

On February 14, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung received Cambodian King Norodom Sihamoni who stopped in Hanoi on his way home from an overseas tour.

 

PM Dung thanked the Cambodian King for his good sentiments towards Vietnam’s land and people and conveyed best regards from himself and other senior Vietnamese leaders to the King Father Norodom Sihanouk and Queen Mother Norodom Monineath.

  

Mr Dung expressed Vietnam’s gratitude to the Cambodian royal family and people for supporting the country in the past struggle for national independence and in its current process of national construction.

 

The Government leader also praised the significant achievements Cambodia has recorded over the past few years, saying that under the clear-sighted leadership of the Cambodian Royal Government, the country will make ever greater achievements in the future.

For his part, King Sihamoni congratulated Vietnam on its recent socio-economic achievements and thanked the Party, Government and people of Vietnam for supporting and assisting his country in the past and in the current process of national construction and development.

 

PM Dung and King Sihamoni expressed their delight at the fine development of time-honoured neighbourly friendship and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries.

 

Regarding 2012 as the Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Year in celebration of the 45th anniversary of diplomatic ties, they vowed to preserve and develop the ties of traditional friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Cambodia for mutual benefits.

 

On the occasion, King Sihamoni conveyed best regards from the King Father Norodom Sihanouk and Queen Mother Norodom Monineath to the Party, State and Government leaders and people of Vietnam
