PM Dung meets with US Trade Representative

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung on November 21 met at the sidelines of the 27th ASEAN summit in Malaysia with US Trade Representative Michael Froman.
They discussed their shared interest in increasing trade and investment between the two nations and continuing discussions on matters pertaining to the Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP).
The Prime Minister pointed out the Vietnam government is eager to continue high level dialogues with the US to explore a range of options for increasing commercial trade and investment.
He further emphasized the government will work to do its part to ensure the TPP is soon ratified and fully abide by its commitments within the trade accord. He also urged the US to soon recognize the nation’s market economy.
