PM Dung hailed the outcome of talks between Deputy PM Yassin and his Vietnamese counterpart Nguyen Thien Nhan which, he said, will contribute to further strengthening cooperative relations in various fields.
Vietnam recognizes the importance of enhancing cooperation with Malaysia to deliver practical benefits to both sides, Dung said while suggesting the two countries effectively implement cooperation areas such as economics, trade, investment, tourism, education and training.
The two sides need to sign a cooperation agreement on food security and labour and closely coordinate in the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) Agreement negotiations.
They should work together on maintaining peace, stability, security and maritime safety in the East Sea, peacefully settling disputes in line with international law and the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, fully implementing the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties (DOC) in the East Sea and early building the Code of Conduct in the East Sea (COC), Dung noted.
The Malaysian guest said his visit’s aim to promote bilateral cooperation in a variety of fields, especially in education-training and agriculture.
Malaysia will closely coordinate with Vietnam in the TPP negotiations and issues related to food security and labour, peaceful settlement of East Sea disputes in accordance with international law, Deputy PM Yassin said.
He said he hopes that the Vietnamese Government will continue to facilitate Malaysian investments in the country thus bring two-way trade to a higher level in the time to come.
