PM’s directive on handling alcohol violations under strict implementation

Update: 12-11-2024 | 13:07:53

Provincial People’s Committee has recently instructed departments, agencies, mass organizations and localities to have coordination in strictly implementing the Prime Minister (PM)’s Directive No. 35/CT-TTg dated September 17, 2024 on strict penalties against officials, civil servants and military personnel who violate regulations on operating vehicles under the influence of alcohol and those who fail to cooperate with authorities in addressing such violations.

Specifically, provincial People’s Committee has requested provincial departments, agencies, mass organizations and the People’s Committees of districts and cities to strengthen communication and widely disseminate the Directive No. 35 to all officials, civil servants and military personnel, ensuring effective implementation. When authorities notify that any official or public servant under their management has violated traffic safety regulations regarding alcohol levels or failed to cooperate with law enforcement, relevant management agencies must carry out disciplinary procedures as mandated by law and by their internal regulations.

Provincial People’s Committee has also directed provincial Traffic Police Agency to intensify patrols and strictly implement measures to ensure traffic safety, inspect and handle alcohol-related violations among drivers. If violators are officials or public servants and fail to cooperate with authorities in addressing such violations, these cases must be reported to their managing agencies for consideration and disciplinary action in accordance with regulations
