To disseminate gender equality to every household
In 2022 and the first 9 months of 2023, the province will continue to promote propaganda activities and disseminate policies and laws on gender equality and the advancement of women. Departments, branches, unions and localities carry out many propaganda activities and disseminate regulations on gender equality to each household.
Every year, the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs (DOLISA) advises the provincial People's Committee to organize the Month of Action for gender equality and prevention and response to gender-based violence, including activities of ceremony for gender equality and preventing and responding to gender-based violence. Talks on gender equality at all levels with thousands of attendees are launched and organized.
In 2022, the department implemented and distributed 53,100 propaganda leaflets to prevent and respond to gender-based violence to collaborators and people in areas and hamlets, continue to maintain the activities of models promoting gender equality with 27 gender equality clubs, 9 trusted addresses in 9 districts, towns and cities, 2 models of preventing and responding to violence in the world. Gender facilities in Bau Bang and Bac Tan Uyen districts, community shelter model in Thu Dau Mot city are models guided by the department in building and allocating operating funds for dissemination, consultation, and readiness to provide support services to people and victims of gender-based violence.
Le Thi Chien, an official of Tan Hung commune, Bau Bang district, said: "Implementing the direction of all levels on gender equality, Tan Hung commune has up to 20 members participating in the local Gender Equality Club. These are elderly people who actively participate in reconciliation, advocacy, building happy families, and building new rural areas. When a family has a problem, they are immediately there to help with everything. In addition, the commune regularly integrates talks on gender equality at meetings in wards and hamlets, provide typical examples of economic building, happy families. Thereon, the activities have raised awareness of self-protection and boldly expressed criticism and condemnation of acts of violence, creating a good living environment.
Diverse forms of propaganda
To make gender equality in the area more and more effective, departments and branches have continued to promote propaganda in accordance with their functions and tasks, bringing high efficiency. The provincial Police has organized dozens of propaganda and legal education classes in the fields of drug prevention, traffic safety, online crime prevention, and sexual abuse prevention among children. The Department of Justice provides comments and evaluates legal documents in accordance with the provisions of Article 21 of the Law on Gender Equality on integrating gender equality issues in the development of legal documents and other related documents; thereby, the contents contribute to improving state management of gender equality, and at the same time review current legal documents to promptly amend, supplement, cancel and promulgate new ones. The provincial Trade Union continues to direct trade unions at all levels to guide the implementation of gender equality work, organize many communication activities on gender equality and gender-based violence prevention, support female workers with reproductive health care services, propagate regimes, policies, and laws to female workers. Nguyen Ngoc Hang added, to improve effective capacity as a result of gender equality work, the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs coordinated to organize professional training on gender equality and prevention and response to gender-based violence programs in 2022 for more than 1,600 members of the Committee for the Advancement of women at district and commune levels and collaborators in wards and hamlets in the province.
