Fields of good growth

Yesterday morning of April 5, Nguyen Van Loi, Member of the CPV Central Committee, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, Head of the provincial National Assembly Delegation and the provincial delegation had a working session with the Standing Board of the Phu Giao district Party Committee on the situation of socio-economic development, national defense and security, CPV building and political system construction in the first quarter, directions and tasks in the second quarter and 2023.

Reporting to the provincial delegation, Doan Van Dong, Deputy Secretary of the district Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Phu Giao district, said that despite facing many difficulties in the first quarter of 2023, the district Party Committee has focused on leadership and directing the implementation of tasks according to the proposed resolution, especially thoroughly grasping and implementing well the direction of the provincial Party Committee and provincial People's Committee on the task of socio-economic development, ensuring national defense and security, CPV and political system building. Many socio-economic indicators have increased over the same period, in which, industry and handicrafts reached over VND 1,300 billion, increasing by over 11% over the same period and reaching 22% of the plan. Total retail sales of goods and services was estimated at VND 2,165 billion, increasing by 17% over the same period and reaching over 17% compared to the plan. Budget revenue reached over VND 114 billion, equaling 33% of the plan. The district has disbursed nearly VND 110 billion of public investment capital, reaching 14% of the plan. The value of agricultural and forestry production reached over VND 850 billion, increasing by over 3% over the same period and reaching 15.7% of the plan. In the first quarter, 18 more hi-tech agricultural production establishments have brought the total number of hi-tech agricultural application establishments to 416, including 315 cultivation facilities and 101 livestock farms.

In addition, in the first quarter, Phu Giao district paid attention to well implementing social security policies, taking care of people's health, and improving the quality of education and training. Political security, social order and safety continue to be ensured. The work of building the CPV and building the political system has been strengthened. The apparatus in the political system continues to be focused on consolidating. The mass mobilization of the political system has been implemented and achieved many positive results.

Besides the achieved results, according to Doan Van Dong, the district's socio-economic situation still faces many difficulties, which is the value of agricultural production, forestry, trade and services, budget expenditure and disbursement of public investment. Although the figures increased, they are not as expected. Besides, the progress of compensation and site clearance is still slow, especially the project of Bac Tan Uyen - Phu Giao - Bau Bang road and An Long Primary School project. The implementation of construction of advanced new rural construction (and investment projects on surveillance camera systems, traffic management, security and order and handling of administrative violations in the district still face many difficulties due to lack of capital resources. The digital transformation of sectors, communes and townships is still slow and has not met the requirements.

Focus on high-tech agriculture

Doan Van Dong said that on the basis of achievements and limitations existing in the first quarter, Phu Giao district will set out the main tasks to focus on effective implementation in the second quarter of 2023. In particular, the district will coordinate to completely solve problems related to compensation, site clearance and capital disbursement for transition works and the public investment list and plan for land acquisition in 2023, especially the Bac Tan Uyen - Phu Giao - Bau Bang road, Ba Bi and Ba Dien bridge projects, and An Long primary school. The district focuses on building advanced rural areas for 10 communes, in which drastic measures are taken so that the three communes of Phuoc Hoa, An Binh and Tam Lap meet the standards of advanced rural areas while deploying the task of implementing the smart village construction project in the district.

Speaking at the meeting, Nguyen Van Loi praised and highly appreciated Phu Giao district's efforts to overcome difficulties in the first quarter of 2023. The Secretary of the provincial Party Committee said that although the general situation is still difficult, Phu Giao district has made efforts and achieved many positive results, especially in the field of public investment disbursement and budget collection. These are the two bright spots of the district in the first 3 months of 2023. However, according to the Secretary of the provincial Party Committee in the general difficult context, the district needs to focus on overcoming the shortcomings and limitations and continue to promote the spirit of energy. Actively and creatively to better perform the tasks set out in the second quarter and 2023 - the pivotal year to implement the resolutions of the CPV congresses at all levels.

Regarding the development orientation of Phu Giao district in the coming time, the Secretary of the provincial Party Committee said that the potential of Phu Giao is very great by its abundant land fund, basic infrastructure for connecting internal transport in the region. The district is located adjacent to the major industrial centers of the province (Bau Bang district) and Binh Phuoc (Dong Phu district). Therefore, the district needs to actively review land resources and other resources for development. Besides, urban upgrading and industrial development have been focusing on agricultural product processing industry.

“Recently, the district has cooperated with a number of businesses and universities to research and develop hi-tech agriculture which is the strength of Phu Giao. However, without agricultural planning, branding of agricultural products, trade promotion, market organization, it cannot develop. Therefore, the relevant agencies of the province need to focus on solving the difficulties of the people and businesses with specific tasks, must really accompany the district's agriculture to develop," the Secretary of the provincial Party Committee emphasized.

The Secretary of the provincial Party Committee also asked the locality to focus on doing well the planning work, and adjust the planning to suit the general development situation of the province i=on how to promote the role and potential and strengths of the locality. At the same time, the district needs to mobilize the resources of the whole society to promote stable, sustainable and oriented socio-economic growth. The district needs to pay more attention to the work of socialization and invest in more modern and synchronous technical and social infrastructure, paying attention to administrative procedure reform with focus on clearing bottlenecks to promote synchronous and more stable growth.
