Practical models to support young workers

Determining the role of the Youth Union in the work of uniting and gathering young workers, the Youth Union of An Binh ward in Di An city has made efforts in implementing models and maintaining regular activities to take care of, supporting the local young workers.

Law dissemination

Over the past time, An Binh ward’s Youth Union actively coordinated with specialized units to well realize law dissemination among young workers through the model of "law dissemination". The model has 15 members and was established in 2015. Every year, the ward’s Youth Union cooperates with the local justice, provincial legal support center, police units in the province and city to organize sessions on law dissemination for young workers at lodging facilities. It is known that these propaganda sessions disseminated the contents of the Youth Law, the Law on Child Care Protection, the Law on Environmental Protection and issues on social insurance, traffic safety, and the Labor Law for laborers at sub-unions for young workers at the lodging facilities.

Simultaneously, the ward’s Youth Union coordinated with relevant units to inspect the "Legal basket" and distribute leaflets on law dissemination at lodging facilities; regularly coordinated with the local police agency to propagandize the harmful effects of drugs, how to prevent fire and explosion... At these propaganda sessions, the ward’s Youth Union actively innovated the form of propaganda by organizing online contests, sticker design contests…

In addition, the ward’s Youth Union also implemented the model of "Residential area without youth suffering from social evils", established law dissemination groups at the meetings of sub-unions for young workers over the past time. The models focusing on raising young workers’awareness of the law have helped stabilize the ideological situation among workers in order to actively take care of labor and production, and contribute to ensuring the local political security and social order-safety.

Taking care of workers’ spiritual life

Every month, the ward’s Youth Union organizes to give 2 gifts worth VND500,000 each for Nguyen Tien Huy and Cao Thi My Duyen who are the offspring of young workers at the lodging facility No. 61/10B in Binh Duong quarter 2 and the lodging facility No. 54 in Binh Duong 3 quarter. This is the work "adopted brother of the Youth Union" which has been maintained by the ward’s Youth Union to take care of the offspring of disadvantaged young workers. Every year, the ward’s Youth Union maintains the activities of giving gifts for the offspring of young workers during the Tet and great holidays while creating summer playgrounds at lodging facilities. The ward’s Youth Union also pays attention to workers with unexpected difficulties and cooperates with relevant units to mobilize donors to visit and offer gifts to these cases. Over the past 5 years, the ward’s Youth Union mobilized organizations and individuals to give hundreds of gifts and support more than 15 cases with unexpected difficulties.

The ward’s Youth Union has annually organized cultural and artistic activities, offered gifts, supported plane and bus tickets for workers who could not return to their hometown to celebrate Tet. During the difficult period of the Covid-19 pandemic, the ward’s Youth Union organized many activities to support difficult workers with practical programs, such as: “Shared rice - Warm human love", "Spring market-day", "Zero dong” market-day...upheld the tradition of "Mutual love and affection" to help disadvantaged workers.

Nguyen Dinh Duc, Deputy Secretary of An Binh ward’s Youth Union said that over the past time, the ward’s Youth Union creatively built models of practical nature, propaganda and education among young workers. Specifically, there was the model "Exchanging waste for gifts, protecting yourself and others". This was the message of the ward’s Youth Union for its branches by classifying waste, helping young workers to have a sense of protecting the environment while promoting the spirit for the sake of the community. The ward’s Youth Union also maintained the annual "Journey to connect young people" to help members and young workers understand more about the province’s history, traditions and culture. During this journey, the ward’s Youth Union offered gifts to members in need, creating an atmosphere of excitement, spreading the spirit of sharing difficulties and educating young workers about revolutionary traditions.

To meet the needs of entertainment of young workers at lodging facilities after a week of working, the ward also organized a model of "Weekend playground" for them. The model created an environment for workers and children at lodging facilities to participate in cultural and artistic activities, learn legal information and share with members in need. Through the above care activities, the ward’s Youth Union helped many difficult workers gain more confidence and rise up in life.
