To promote relic values

Not only has the restoration, embellishment and protection of relics been paid attention to, Tan Uyen town also pays great attention to promoting the value of historical and cultural relics.

According to the Division of Culture and Information in Tan Uyen town, at present, the relics of communal houses and temples in the area still maintain the traditional festival form from the past to the present, which is Ky Yen festival. The localities that organize the festival have established an Organizing Committee with all relevant authorities, registered, and notified the program and schedule of the festival with the local authorities. The Festival Organizing Committee is always interested in restoring fine customs and traditions by eliminating outdated customs and preventing acts of taking advantage of the festival for superstitious activities. The diverse and rich activities have met the people's religious needs, contributing to the creation of a healthy social and cultural environment; at the same time, they propagate the historical and cultural values of the relics to promptly correct deviant expressions and promote propaganda and to implement cultural lifestyles in the festival to make the festival more civilized and truly become a cultural festival of the people, actively contributing to local economic and cultural development.

In order to promote the value of the monument, every year, the Culture and Information Division has planned to coordinate with branches and district mass organizations to organize activities on resources and sightseeing at the relics in the area. Initially, the coordination was effective to connect many people to the historical and cultural relics. Specifically, the Divions of Culture and Information has coordinated with the Division of Education and Training, the town Council, and other political and social organizations to organize trips to the source to find the ‘red addresses’ and to study extra-curricular activities, etc. for youth union members and students. Monuments are also often chosen by mass organizations, such as the Youth Union, Veterans' Association, Women's Union etc. as the places of awarding badges or holding other celebrations.

The promotion of the value of the monuments is also done through the integration of organizing the program to connect the attractions at the monuments in the area. In recent years, the town's People's Committee has coordinated with units inside and outside the province to organize typical activities and events at monuments in the area to attract tens of thousands of attendees. Typically, the connection of monument attractions at the first and second Bach Dang pomelo Festival is organized to welcome delegations inside and outside the province. The contests to learn about historical and cultural relics in Tan Uyen town, visiting programs, on-site and mobile photo exhibitions at middle and high schools in the town have been organized with thousands of union members and participating students in the education of historical traditions and introduction of the origin and meaning of relics to a large number of people. These activities not only bring people closer to the monuments but also contribute to raising the awareness and responsibility of each individual in preserving and promoting the value of the local historical and cultural relics.

Mr. Nguyen Tan Phat added that, in order to protect and promote the values of relics, in the coming time, one of the matters that Tan Uyen Town will focus on truthfully is promoting propaganda about the origin, meaning and value of relics in order to raise the sense of responsibility in preserving and promoting the values of relics in the community and people. Along with that, the town will also focus on implementing care-taking staff and activities at the monuments to participate in training courses to improve qualifications and expertise in order to promptly advise leaders in restoring, embellishing, exploiting and promoting the value of relics; to survey the current status of monuments in the area to promptly advise on the annual plan of restoration and embellishment; to mobilize resources for the conservation and promotion of the value of the monuments; to coordinate with agencies, departments, sectors and mass organizations to organize programs on resources and to integrate and connect with local monuments, attractions and festival activities to bring tourists to the tourist attractions in the town.
