120 years ago, a school of art and culture was built in Thu land. That was the local Thu Dau Mot native fire arts school and is now called Binh Duong Fine Arts - Culture Junior College. The name of the school from the past evoked a feeling of the Thu land with a long history of traditional culture. These traditional and indigenous cultural features are also the source of strength for the land and Binh Duong people today to develop into civilization and modernity.

Binh Duong Fine Arts and Culture Junior College is considered as one of the earliest-established art schools not only in Vietnam but also throughout Indochina at that time. In the past, Thu Dau Mot was a land with a long history of culture and today, it has many archaeological sites, historical and cultural landscapes. Along with that, Thu Dau Mot is also a cradle of traditional handicraft villages in the South… From that, 120 years ago, the French chose this place to establish the Dau Mot Thu native fire arts school, aiming to exploit the local traditional cultural values.

It is also from this school that handicrafts have been taught and handed down through generations. The school is also a cradle to nurture and preserve the ancient features of the Thu land with a long history of culture. Upon this, traditional values ​​are not only passed down through cultural activities, socio-economic life, eating habits, thinking and working habits of each house, but also scientifically disseminated at the school. Through many generations of learners, they have continued spreading and penetrating deeply, becoming the identity of Binh Duong’s land and people today. That is also the reason why along with strong industrial development, Binh Duong is also known by domestic and international friends for its traditional handicraft villages such as ceramics, lacquer...

“Preservation of heritage, conversation of traditions, vocational training, and promotion of creativity and development of education” are an important task that Binh Duong Fine Arts - Culture Junior College always determines during its development process. This is also the sacred mission of the school in the context of accelerated industrialization, modernization and international integration in the 4.0 era.
